How do you Subscribe?

How do you Subscribe?

Today it seems social media platforms and online content is the way to get most of your information. We have Social Media outlets such as: Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest just to name a few… then we have YouTube and the many people who use that platform to be an influencer or sell a product or idea.

So I ask, you how do you subscribe?

How do you follow the information, product, influencer or celebrity that you enjoy content from?

What type of content do you subscribe to? Comedy, True Crime, Faith, Politics, Current Affairs, Beauty, Fashion, Sports and DIY are only some of the popular topics.

I do have a few podcasts that I like to listen to but most of them are celebrities/personalities that I like to follow like Bethenny Frankle, Whitney Port, Reba McEntire, and Heather Thomson; while other podcasts are more faith based like Joyce Meyer, and Proverbs 31 Ministries; and I also follow the Office Ladies as I am a big fan of the tv show The Office. I utilize Podcasts mostly for devotionals or if I want some background information on and like to listen to a fun celebrity interview.

I also like to watch YouTube. These are the ones I find I need to pay attention to- usually there’s a funny video or the content they are displaying is to be seen and not simply heard. As with podcasts you don’t need to see the information just hear, but with YouTube you need to see the content.

Some of the YouTubers I subscribe to are comedians: James Corden, Jimmy Fallon, Jim Gaffigan, Brent Butt (I love Corner Gas), and Rob Bryden (the British show Gavin & Stacey is my new fav); I also watch videos that are faith based by Joyce Meyer and Dianna Hobbs.

But to be honest I generally watch videos to be entertained. I find myself watching a lot of videos from: Mila & Emma (cutest twins ever), Leanne & Michelle (they are all over the enneagram), LadBaby (a British family that is hilarious), Watch What Happens Live (the Real Housewives is a guilty pleasure for me) and Geri Halliwell (she’s my fav Spice Girl); and lastly, a few exercise YouTube channels that I use to help me with exercise.

I also love subscribing to emails… I think I get about 150 emails a day mostly from clothing stores. Every time I find a new boutique or clothing store I sign up. Anytime a site asks for my email I give it- I want to see the deals.

I find emails are a great way to show content that you can either accept or simply delete. But it's fast, efficient and to the point- which I like.

So how do you like to subscribe? Do you want your information given to you in a format that you can listen to, or do you want to feel more engaged by seeing it in video format or would you rather just have a quick email covering the basics?

Is it also possible to say that subscribing has become a bit of a hobby? How many hours a day can you spend just listening and watching others online?

I love to ask- have you created your own online content? If so, what is it that you do, I'd love to subscribe ;)

I think it’s amazing the time we live in where information sought is ready at the click of a button. I also feel like I need to share that not everything you find online is truth- many things can be easily edited or duped, so please always check your sources and make sure who you’re watching or listening to is the real deal.

As always, thanks for spending some of your Monday listening to my views on subscribing,
