Canadian Thanksgiving happens in early October when the leaves are changing colours and the end of a warm season is drawing near.

As I have been celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and loved ones, I have reflected upon the past year and what I find myself feeling thankful for.

I have felt especially thankful this past year for all the doors that God has opened and closed in my life that only He can do.

God has moved in my life this year in ways I could never have predicted.

He has closed doors to seasons, passions, time spending that was no longer of value, as He opened doors to seasons of rest, answered prayer, new dreams and company I did not know I needed.

The thing I am very thankful for is that God sees the whole picture… all the pieces I could never see or know how would all fit together.

I am also reminded that God is good, and that He is the best provider.

I am forever grateful.

“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!” 1 Chronicles 16:34 (ESV)

Looking back on your year, what do you find yourself thankful for?
